6. Level 2 salary after the 8th Pay Commission: estimate

The 8th Central Pay Commission was set up by Gazette resolution on 3 November 2025 and has 18 months to report, so its report is due around May 2027. No fitment factor has been announced. The 7th CPC used 2.57. The table multiplies today’s Level 2 basic pay by 2.57 and 2.86 only to show the range people discuss. Estimate

Level 2 cellBasic now× 2.57 (illustration)× 2.86 (illustration)

Estimate, not an official figure. A new pay matrix would round pay into its own cells, and DA would restart at 0% on the new basic, so the real gain is smaller than the multiplication suggests: at Cell 1 you already draw ₹31,840 as basic + DA today.
