These Terms of Use apply to everyone who uses 8thpaycalculator.in (“the site”, “we”, “us”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are

8thpaycalculator.in is run by an independent editorial team. We publish calculators, trackers and news for Central Government employees, defence and CAPF personnel, and pensioners in India. Using the site is free. You can read more about us.

2. We are not a government website

We are not owned, run, endorsed or funded by the Government of India, any State Government, the 8th Central Pay Commission, or any ministry or department. This includes the Department of Expenditure, DoPT, DoPPW, the Ministry of Defence and the Railway Board.

We use the names of government bodies, schemes and pay commissions only to describe the topic. For official information, always go to the government website, Gazette notification or Office Memorandum (OM). We link to it on our pages wherever we can.

3. Calculators give estimates, not official figures

• Every result from our calculators (salary, pension, DA/DR, arrears, HRA, bonus, gratuity, MACP, 8th Pay Commission and others) is an estimate for general guidance.
• A result is not a pay fixation, a pension sanction, a PPO or an entitlement. Your office does not have to accept it.
• No 8th Pay Commission pay matrix, fitment factor or start date has been notified yet. Any 8th CPC figure on the site is a scenario based on the assumptions shown on that page.
• Your real pay or pension depends on your service record and rules a calculator may not cover. For example: pay protection, stepping up, deputation, special allowances, recoveries, tax and other deductions.
• Before you take any decision, check your figures with your DDO, PAO, Head of Office or pension disbursing authority.

4. How we keep content accurate

We use official sources first: OMs, Gazette notifications, PIB releases and Labour Bureau data. We label figures as Confirmed, Proposed, Reported or Estimate. Our Editorial Policy explains how we research, label and update pages.

Rules and rates change. A page can go out of date. Check the “Updated” or “Last verified” date and the linked official source.

5. No professional advice

Everything on the site is general information. It is not legal, financial, tax or investment advice. Do not choose a pension option (such as NPS or UPS), commute your pension or make any money decision based only on this site. Ask the competent authority or a qualified adviser.

6. How you may use the site

You may:

• use the site and calculators for your own, non-commercial purposes;
• share links to our pages on WhatsApp, Telegram, email, social media or in your association circulars;
• quote a short part of a page, if you name 8thpaycalculator.in and link to the page.

You must not:

• copy or republish whole pages, tables, calculators or their code, on another website, app, channel or PDF, without our written permission;
• scrape or bulk-download the site with bots, or put a heavy load on our server;
• show our pages inside a frame on another site in a way that hides our address or adds your own ads;
• try to hack, break or get around the security of the site;
• use the site for anything illegal, misleading or harmful, or to send spam;
• pretend that our content or calculator results are official government figures.

7. Comments and messages you send us

If you post a comment or send us a message, you are responsible for what you write. Do not post anything false, abusive, hateful, defamatory or someone else’s copyright. Do not share personal documents or numbers such as PPO, PAN, Aadhaar, bank details or salary slips.

We may edit, hold back or remove any comment. By posting, you allow us to show and keep your comment on the site. How we handle your details is set out in our Privacy Policy.

8. Copyright and trademarks

The text, tables, worked examples, calculators, code, images and design of this site belong to 8thpaycalculator.in, unless a page says otherwise. They are protected by the Copyright Act, 1957 and other laws of India.

Government orders, Gazette notifications and other official documents belong to the Government. We summarise them, quote from them and link to the original. Names and logos of other organisations belong to their owners.

9. Advertising and cookies

• We may show ads from Google AdSense and other ad partners to keep the site free.
• Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this site and other sites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ad Settings or at aboutads.info.
• We also use cookies for basic site functions and for visitor statistics. The Privacy Policy explains which cookies we use and how to control them.
• An ad on our site is not an endorsement. We do not check advertisers’ products or claims. Ads never change what we write.
• We will clearly mark any sponsored content.

10. Links to other websites

Our pages link to government websites, official PDFs and some other sites. We do not control those sites. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability or privacy practices. A government link may move or change after we publish. If you find a broken link, please tell us.

11. Changes to the site

We may change, update, pause or remove any page, calculator or feature at any time, without notice. We try to keep the site running, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors.

12. Limitation of liability

We take care to keep the site accurate and up to date. Even so, the site and calculators are provided “as is”. We give no guarantee that the information is complete, correct or current.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, 8thpaycalculator.in and its team are not liable for any loss or damage from using or relying on the site. This covers our calculators, content, ads and linked websites. It also covers any loss of pay, pension, arrears, interest, tax or other money, and any decision you take based on the site.

Nothing in these terms removes any right you have that cannot be excluded under Indian law.

13. Your responsibility

If you break these terms or misuse the site, and that leads to a claim against us, you are responsible for that claim.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute about them or about the site will be handled by the courts in India.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the site after a change, it means you accept the updated terms.
