The 7th CPC used 2.57. The table multiplies today’s Level 9 basic pay by 2.57 and 2.86 only to show the range people discuss. Estimate

|---|---|---|---|

| Cell 10 | ₹69,200 | ₹1,77,844 | ₹1,97,912 |
| Cell 20 | ₹93,000 | ₹2,39,010 | ₹2,65,980 |
| Cell 40 | ₹1,67,800 | ₹4,31,246 | ₹4,79,908 |
Estimate, not an official figure. A new pay matrix would round pay into its own cells, and DA would restart at 0% on the new basic, so the real gain is smaller than the multiplication suggests: at Cell 1 you already draw ₹84,960 as basic + DA today.
