This page explains, in plain words, what data 8thpaycalculator.in ("we", "us") collects when you visit, why, and what you can do about it. Questions? Email contact@8thpaycalculator.in.
Short version
- Our calculators do not save what you type.
- We use Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Jetpack to see how the site is used.
- We use Google AdSense for ads. Google and its partners use cookies for this. You can turn off personalised ads.
- We do not sell your personal data.
1. Calculators
Numbers you enter (pay level, basic pay, years of service and similar) are used only to show your result in your browser. We do not store them or link them to you. Please do not type your name, PAN, Aadhaar, PPO number or bank details into any calculator. None of our tools need them.
2. Data you give us
- Email and contact form: your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply.
- Comments: the details in the comment form, plus your IP address and browser user agent to help stop spam. Your comment and display name are public once approved.
- Accounts: if you register, we store your username, email address and profile details. You can edit them any time.
3. Analytics and usage data
- Google Analytics 4 (Google): counts visits and shows which pages are read, how long, from which device and which website or search sent you. It uses cookies and similar identifiers. You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft): shows how visitors scroll, click and move on a page (heatmaps and session recordings) so we can fix layout problems. It uses cookies. Text you type into fields is masked. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Jetpack (Automattic): Jetpack Stats gives us page-view counts, and Jetpack also helps with site security. It may process your IP address, browser and pages visited. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools: give us search totals (queries, clicks). They do not identify you to us.
- Server logs: our host, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and performance.
We look at this data in total, not to identify individual people.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense (publisher ID pub-6751825185852439) to show ads. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to show ads based on your past visits to this website and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on those visits.
- Turn off personalised ads from Google at Google Ads Settings (My Ad Center).
- Opt out of other vendors’ cookies for personalised ads at www.aboutads.info.
- Read how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
If you turn off personalised ads, you may still see ads. They will just be less based on your browsing.
5. Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser saves. We use them to:
- keep the site working (login and comment cookies);
- measure use (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, Jetpack);
- show and measure ads (Google AdSense and its partners).
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work properly without them.
6. Links and embedded content
Many pages link to government websites (PIB, DoE, DoPT, DoPPW, CGHS and others) or embed content such as videos. Those sites have their own privacy policies and may collect data about you.
7. How we use and share data
- We use data to run and improve the site, reply to you, stop spam and abuse, and show ads.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We share data only with the service providers named above (Hostinger, Google, Microsoft, Automattic), or when the law requires it.
8. How long we keep data
Messages: as long as needed to deal with your query. Approved comments: until removed. Accounts: until you ask us to delete them. Analytics and ad providers keep data under their own retention settings.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or withdraw consent, by emailing contact@8thpaycalculator.in. We will reply within a reasonable time and as required by Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
10. Children
This website is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top shows the current version. See also our Terms of Use, Disclaimer and Editorial Policy.
