The Rajasthan 7th Pay Commission pay structure comes from the Rajasthan Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2017. The rules apply from 1 January 2016. Revised pay was paid in cash from 1 October 2017. No arrears were paid for 2016, and arrears for January–September 2017 were paid in three instalments (RCS (Revised Pay) Rules, 2017, rules 1, 23 and 24). Confirmed

Use the calculator below to convert your pre-2016 pay (pay band + grade pay) into 7th pay basic, then read on for the current DA, HRA and MACP rules.

Calculation Summary

Revised Basic Pay ₹ 0
DA (60%) ₹ 0
HRA ₹ 0
Estimated New Gross Salary ₹ 0

Note on the calculator: the "Revised Basic Pay" line multiplies (basic pay + grade pay) by 2.57, as in the Rules. It does not then move the figure to the next cell of the pay matrix, so your actual pay may be slightly higher. The gross salary uses the current Rajasthan rates: DA 60% from 1 January 2026 and HRA of 20% (Y class) or 10% (other places). It excludes other allowances and deductions. Last updated: 14 October 2026. Estimate

How the 7th pay fixation works (Rule 7)

  1. Existing basic pay = pay in the running pay band + grade pay, as on 1 January 2016 (or the date you switched to the revised structure).
  2. Multiply by 2.57 and round to the nearest rupee.
  3. Find your Level (the Level for your grade pay is in the Rules' schedule) and take the cell equal to that figure, or the next higher cell. If the first cell of the Level is higher, you get the first cell.

Worked example from the Rules: pay in pay band ₹8,160 + grade pay ₹2,400 (GP No. 9B) = ₹10,560. ₹10,560 × 2.57 = ₹27,139. GP 2400 (9B) maps to Level 7, and the next cell at or above ₹27,139 is ₹27,600 (RCS (RP) Rules, 2017, Rule 7, illustration). Confirmed

Rajasthan's grade pays and Levels (L-1 to L-24) are not the same as the central pay matrix, so use the schedule in the Rajasthan Rules rather than central tables.

"Basic pay" for DA and HRA means pay in your Level of the pay matrix only, not special or personal pay. Rates as on 14 October 2026; check for a newer DA order before use.

Example: monthly pay at today's rates

Basic pay ₹27,600, posted in Jaipur (Y class): DA 60% = ₹16,560; HRA 20% = ₹5,520; basic + DA + HRA = ₹49,680 a month, before other allowances and deductions. In a Z-class town HRA would be ₹2,760 and the total ₹46,920. Estimate

Frequently asked questions

What is the current DA for Rajasthan government employees?

60% of basic pay from 1 January 2026 for employees under the 7th pay rules (FD order of 23 April 2026). Confirmed If the centre announces its July 2026 instalment, Rajasthan usually issues its own order afterwards, so check the Finance Department for anything newer.

From which date did the Rajasthan 7th pay apply?

From 1 January 2016 on paper (notional), with cash payment from 1 October 2017. No arrears were paid for 2016. Confirmed

What HRA do I get in Jaipur?

20% of basic pay, because Jaipur is a Y-class city. Places outside the five Y-class cities get 10%. Confirmed

Why does my pay slip differ from the calculator?

Common reasons: the calculator does not move your pay to the next matrix cell; its gross-salary line uses old example rates; increments, MACP and promotions since 2016 are not included; and allowances and deductions differ by post.

Is the 8th Pay Commission applicable to Rajasthan employees?

Not directly. The 8th CPC covers central government staff. States usually adopt central recommendations later, with changes. See 8th Pay Commission for state employees.
