How is the India Post PLB calculated?
Staff: PLB = Average emoluments × 60 ÷ 30.4
GDS: Ex-gratia bonus = Average (TRCA + DA) × 60 ÷ 30.4
30.4 is the average number of days in a month.
- Emoluments = Basic Pay + DA + SB Allowance + Deputation (Duty) Allowance + Training Allowance (faculty in training institutes).
- Cap: any month above ₹7,000 counts as ₹7,000.
- Average = total of the capped months from 1.4.2025 to 31.3.2026 ÷ 12.
- EOL and dies-non: the ₹7,000 ceiling is cut proportionately for those days.
- Rounding: to the nearest rupee (para 5).
Lowest basic pay under the 7th CPC is ₹18,000. Minimum GDS TRCA has been ₹10,000 since 2018 (PIB, 6 June 2018). So anyone on duty all year crosses ₹7,000 every month. They get the full ₹13,816, whatever their pay level. Our calculation
Casual labourers: Maximum = ₹1,200 × 60 ÷ 30.4 = ₹2,368.42
Rate per day = Maximum ÷ 365 = ₹6.49, times the days worked in 2025-26. If actual wages in a month were below ₹1,200, actual wages are used.
How much India Post bonus will I get? Examples
| Case | Working | Bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Full year on duty (Postal Assistant, Postman, MTS or GDS) | 12 × ₹7,000 = ₹84,000 ÷ 12 = ₹7,000 → ₹7,000 × 60 ÷ 30.4 = ₹13,815.79 | ₹13,816 |
| Two whole months of EOL | 10 × ₹7,000 = ₹70,000 ÷ 12 = ₹5,833.33 → × 60 ÷ 30.4 = ₹11,513.16 | ₹11,513 |
| 15 days EOL in one 30-day month Our reading | Ceiling that month ₹3,500; total ₹80,500 ÷ 12 × 60 ÷ 30.4 | ₹13,240 |
| GDS engaged on 1 July 2025 (9 months) | 9 × ₹7,000 = ₹63,000 ÷ 12 = ₹5,250 → × 60 ÷ 30.4 = ₹10,361.84 | ₹10,362 |
| GDS with capped average of ₹5,500 | ₹5,500 × 60 ÷ 30.4 = ₹10,855.26 | ₹10,855 |
| Casual labourer, 300 days | ₹2,368.42 ÷ 365 = ₹6.4888 × 300 = ₹1,946.65 | ₹1,947 |
| Casual labourer, all 365 days | ₹1,200 × 60 ÷ 30.4 | ₹2,368 |
Two notes. The order only says “proportionate deduction” for EOL. We pro-rate by calendar days; your office may count days differently. For casual labourers, if the office rounds the maximum to ₹2,368 first, 300 days gives ₹1,946, one rupee less. Part-year service is made proportionate by dividing by 12 (para 3.3). Our reading
